Is the RD rule issued 10/25/17 (doing away with the agreed upon procedures) effective for 12/31/17 audits or 12/31/18 audits? If 12/31/17 I will have additional questions. |

From Les Sparks: Daniel, the new rules are implemented in a staggered fashion. 2017 audits will be performed as they were in the past with one exception, the AUP can be eliminated if the client makes a simple notification to the RD field office. In 2018, it appears that the new rules will generally take affect. There maybe some wiggle-room in this date, but most CPAs appear ready to adopt the new audit requirements. I guess this all depends on RD issuing new audit guidance. I will send the latest RD letter to you in a separate email. Les |
