My multi-only mortgage broker/lender cannot recertify via LEAP; the only issue appears to be the answer to the field “NMLS ID#”, for which they have none. She tried to bypass w/ no entry [which appears to work in the next field re: a GMDA ID], but it would not continue; so she entered 0 [zero]. And LEAP’s “help” resources have all failed-3 calls and no one had an answer.

So, before I bother via an email to our new contact in HUD – Ms. Monique C, I’m leaning on you folks – any ideas?

From Susan:

Before the transition from LASS to LEAP, Lenders were encouraged to get all the information entered in FHA Connection, so that it would transfer from one to the next. Including the NMLS #. There were letters and notices about getting that number entered, that it would now be required. (See attachment). That field has been there since LEAP began. Now if it’s always been empty and just this year they are not letting you get “past” it remaining empty, that might be true. I honestly can’t say that I notice it for all the lenders I submit for, because I don’t ever do the “Certification” and it doesn’t come into play for what I do. But the field has been there.
