Deferral of Stub Audit Period

We have a new client that acquired a property in November 2018 so they are within the deferral period; however, they did not file a request in the REAC system.  They were not aware that they had to request the deferral and thought that it was automatic.  Can they still request the deferral and who should they contact?

It is not too late to request the deferral.  Deferral requests are submitted online through REAC.

Just log into REAC and go to FASSUB.  Once you are to the “Select an Option” screen click on Request Waiver. Fill out the form and submit.  HUD will review the request and, if it is within the allowed time-frame, approve it. They will not notify you.  You will have to go back into the “Select an Option” screen.  This time click on Administrative Request Status Box.
