Hello. I have one more question that arose during our recent peer review. How do you typically see AUP reports and related rep letters dated as compared to the date on the CPA certification from REAC? We were told all three should have the same date, but I just don’t know how that is even possible unless we go back and date the rep letter and AUP report after submission to HUD. Our clients (especially NFP boards) want to sign everything at once and aren’t good with same day turnaround. Appreciate your thoughts on this! Dawn Wynn |

I’m curious who told you they should all have the same date. As you mentioned, it is really difficult to do that. I know that there is not requirement whatsoever that these dates must match, but I can’t find the information Les has on that. He is out of the country. I know he has answered this question before, but I can’t find it. I will keep trying to find information on it. |

Thanks, Kathy. It was our peer reviewer with Johnson, Hickey and Murchison out of Chattanooga. I really pushed them on how they get these dates to align and this was the response. Here’s the logistics on our AUPs from one of our managers – “I have mine sitting in the system until I receive the rep letter and I submit right when I receive it”
I did ask them what sources they use for HUD specific CPE and was told they have only been to 2-3 courses in the 25+ years. |

We do about 2,000 submissions per year. We have some clients that frequently change the dates because of the idea that the AUP date must match the audit report dates. However, our largest client (over 500 submissions), and many others do not subscribe to that idea. |
