Les, In 2019 our firm made the decision to exclude reserves and escrows held by the mortgagee from cash and cash equivalents. The decision was based on discussions with clients, fellow CPAs and guidance from AHACPAS. Our firm was acquired by another firm earlier this year and the question asked of me “is how prevalent is that approach in practice by other CPA firms? Do you have a feeling for what other firms are doing in practice? |
