HUD 101 Session 1 & 2 (Multifamily):

This webinar series is for persons new to the HUD Multifamily audit area.  The course is an introduction to the required concepts for auditing HUD Projects. The training will be conducted as a webinar and will be in two four-hour sessions.  There are no prerequisites for this course other than a basic understanding of audit theory.

Multifamily Update Session 1 & 2:

  • These two sessions will cover the information that is taught in our one day Multifamily Update courses.  Each session is eligible for 4 CPE credits.  The individual courses can be taken in any order.  Topics to include:

    • New Accounting Rules: What You Need to Know
    • HUD Audit Guide Chapter 3
    • Rural Development Proposed Audit Guide

CPE Credit

This Internet-Based Multifamily Update Course is eligible for 4 hours Auditing (Governmental) CPE Credits

CPE credits will be provided in accordance with the standards for the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.  CPE Credits are granted based on a 50-minute hour.

Attendance Monitoring

AHACPA uses a variety of methods to monitor participant engagement and attendance.

Tracking for Individuals: Our internet-based classes are hosted on the Zoom.us platform.  Throughout the course poll questions will randomly pop up asking you to confirm you are in attendance. CPE credit will be awarded after AHACPA reviews participant responses to poll questions.

Tracking for Groups: In situations where small groups view a course together, it is not necessary for the individuals in the small group to respond to the polling questions individually.  The person logged into the program may respond to the polling question on behalf of the group.  However, there must be an individual in the group monitoring active participation. A form will be provided to group for tracking purposes.  This form must be returned to AHACPA before CPE certificates will be issued.

AHACPA uses Kahoot to provide participants with a fun and interactive quiz game. Participants may optionally download the Kahoot app in advance.

CPE Details

Who Should Attend: Auditors, owners & managers of HUD-subsidized multifamily properties.
Learning Objective: To learn HUD accounting, audit, and electronic submission requirements and how to efficiently implement those requirements.
Program Knowledge Level: AHACPA offers update-level courses. You should have a basic working knowledge of General HUD accounting or audit experience.
Prerequisites/Advanced Preparation: None. Attendees will be given the opportunity to download digital materials.
Delivery Method: Group Internet Based with interactive discussion, guides and practice aids, case studies.
Length/CPE Credits/Field of Study: 4 Auditing (Governmental) CPE Credits
Refunds and Cancellations: All cancellation requests must be received in writing (email or fax is fine). Registration fees are fully refundable provided the request is received at least three weeks prior to the course. Requests received after this date, but one week before the course will receive a refund less an administration fee of $50 for Update Courses and $75 for Conferences. Due to financial obligations incurred by AHACPA, no refunds will be issued for cancellation requests received less than a week before the course. In the unlikely event that AHACPA must cancel a course, all registrations fees paid to AHACPA by attendees will be refunded in full.
Substitutions: If you are unable to attend a course you may substitute another individual or change locations without penalty. The location change must be within the same calendar year. For proper CPE credit and record keeping, you must notify us in advance of any substitution or change in location.
