Director of Accounting for Affiliated Entities, Life Care Centers of America Inc.

Subsequent to 5 years as audit manager in public accounting, Jenice has been employed with Life Care Centers of America Inc. (Life Care) since 1997 and is well-respected in her organization and among her peers for her professionalism and knowledge. Life Care currently has more than 130 affiliated entities which are leased nursing home projects.  Jenice has coordinated the annual financial statement audits for all of those with Life Care’s audit firm since 1999. She also monitors the AHACPA input of the AFS into REAC each year, working closely with their team and the auditors.  In the early years of Life Care’s leased nursing home journey, Jenice completed the REAC AFS submissions herself.  Due to current volume, she is very happy to engage AHACPA to do the submissions!  She possesses keen insight into the many facets of the HUD Section 232 program and REAC.

Jenice has collaborated with Life Care’s lenders,  HUD Account Executives, and Life Care associates to help ensure Life Care’s compliance with HUD-imposed requirements.

In 2025, Jenice, as an industry partner, submitted feedback to HUD on ORCF’s Drafting Table for HUD’s planned revision 2 of Handbook 4232.1, the Healthcare Mortgage Insurance Program Handbook for Section 232 of the National Housing Act Office of Residential Care Facilities (last updated by HUD in 2017).  She was excited to be able to voluntarily provide feedback and input toward strengthening the Section 232 program as well as further clarifying and updating current program policy.

Jenice has served a panelist for the past 3 years on AHACPA’s Section 232—Leased Nursing Homes webinar, and is passionate about assisting in furthering their mission in providing training to the industry.
